🎱 In Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, on the Chinese mainland, Wu Yize faced off against Zhao Xintong in an all-Chinese semifinal at the WST International Championship – and stunned the reigning world champion 9-6 to book his ticket to the final.
🎯 The first session was neck-and-neck at 4-4, with Wu unleashing a huge 140 break to grab frame four and extend his momentum before Zhao fought back to level the score again.
🚀 After the interval, Wu hit another gear, running off four straight frames with breaks over 70 (including a 108 century!), before closing out the match 73-8 in the 15th.
😎 With this win, Wu now leads his head-to-head with Zhao 6-3 and will take on the winner of the Scottish showdown between John Higgins and Stephen Maguire in the final.
Wu said: “I’ve watched John Higgins and Stephen Maguire since I was a child. I came here to win the title, so I need to be ready.”
