Former DPRK Official Kim Yong Nam Passes Away at 97

Kim Yong Nam, former chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme Peoples Assembly of the DPRK, died of illness at 97 on Monday, KCNA reported on Tuesday.

General Secretary of the WPK and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, visited Kim Yong Nams bier at 1:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday to express his deep condolences. 🇰🇵

A state funeral has been announced. A national funeral committee of 100 members, led by Kim Jong Un, will oversee the ceremony. The bier will receive condolences from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and the official funeral will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Kim Yong Nam was one of the DPRKs longest-serving officials, representing his country in diplomatic missions and steering legislative affairs for decades. His passing marks the close of a significant chapter in the nations modern political history. 🕊️
