China to Green 6.7 Million Hectares in 2024 🌱

China is gearing up for a massive green transformation! 🌳 The nation plans to green 6.7 million hectares of land in 2024, according to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.

This spring, afforestation efforts are sprouting up across the country, with projects tailored to local ecosystems. In central China's Henan Province, Xiangcheng City is set to plant over 2 million trees along its streets and in villages. That's a lot of shade for summer strolls! ☀️

By the end of March, about 1 million hectares of new forests had already taken root nationwide. Provinces like Hunan, Hubei, and Guizhou have each greened over 133,000 hectares. Talk about going green! 🌿

Over the past decade, China has transformed 112 million hectares into green spaces. The forest area now totals 231 million hectares, pushing the forest coverage rate beyond 24%. Forest area and stock volume have been on the rise for years, making China a leader in reforestation efforts.

With a preserved plantation area of 87.6 million hectares—the largest in the world—China's new plantations in the past decade account for over a quarter of the global total. That's some serious eco-commitment! 🌏

As China continues to greenify at record speeds, the future looks lush and full of life. 🍃 Who's ready to breathe in that fresh forest air?
