🏁 What a weekend at Austins Circuit of the Americas! Max Verstappen was untouchable, leading every lap from pole to cross the finish line in style.
The Red Bull driver not only took the main race but also scored maximum points thanks to his sprint win on Saturday. That performance sliced his gap in the F1 standings from 104 to just 40 points behind leader Oscar Piastri.
Speaking of Piastri, the McLaren rookie still holds a 14-point lead over his teammate Lando Norris after finishing fifth. Norris, who battled past Ferrari's Charles Leclerc late in the race, grabbed the runner-up spot and even had a shot at challenging for the win.
Leclerc secured third, followed by Lewis Hamilton and Piastri. Behind them, George Russell, Yuki Tsunoda, Nico Hlkenberg, and rookie Oliver Bearman rounded out the points finishers, with Fernando Alonso grabbing the final point in tenth.
Drama hit early when Carlos Sainz and Kimi Antonelli collided, bringing out a virtual safety car. Sainz picked up a five-place grid penalty and two penalty points for causing the crash.
With five races and two sprints left this season, the title fight is heating up. Can Verstappen keep charging? Will Piastri become Australias first champion since 1980? Stay tuned! 🔥🏆
