Hainan is taking off! From October 8 to 11, Sanya in south China’s Hainan Province launched three brand-new international flight routes, connecting with Minsk (Belarus), the Ulaanbaatar–Sanya–Ulan-Ude corridor (Mongolia & Russia), and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). These links supercharge Hainan’s global exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative. 🌏✈️
The new "Sanya–Minsk" connection marks a historic milestone—Belarus is now on the Sanya map, and the maiden flight reached an impressive 98% occupancy rate! 🚀
The "Ulaanbaatar–Sanya–Ulan-Ude" route operates under the fifth freedom of the air, letting passengers hop seamlessly between the Chinese mainland, Mongolia, and Russia. It’s Sanya’s third such route after Phnom Penh–Sanya–Singapore and Frankfurt–Bangkok–Sanya. 🤝🌐
And for travelers craving tropical vibes, the "Sanya–Kuala Lumpur" service locks in the visa-free policy between China and Malaysia. No more detours through Haikou—just a direct path to paradise! 🌴🇲🇾
"Direct flights to Sanya will greatly benefit our tourism industry. Malaysian tourists can now fly directly to Sanya without having to stop in Haikou. This is a very special day," said Liu Weikang, president of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association.
With these additions, Sanya now boasts 38 international flight routes to 29 overseas destinations. Hainan is truly rising as a key aviation gateway, bridging cultures and boosting global ties. Ready for takeoff? 😎✈️
