Hey tech fans! The 2025 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference just kicked off in Beijing 🚀, bringing together about 1,000 experts, innovators and policy makers to explore the future of smart rides.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, this three-day event runs under the theme "pooling wisdom, boundless connectivity." Attendees will dive into 3 plenary sessions and 3 specialized forums covering policy, safety, AI integration, real-world applications and data governance.
Guo Shougang, an MIIT official, shared: "During this year's conference, we will advance practical international collaboration. This is the first time for us to invite foreign officials at the ministerial level to attend, organize foreign diplomats to tour China's automotive industry, and hold bilateral cooperation meetings with the UK and Germany to further promote international cooperation and exchanges." 🌐
Key highlights include the launch of a national pilot base for AI applications in the automotive sector, the release of the "Top 10 functional scenarios for vehicle-road coordination" list, and a report on achievements in ICV standardization 🤖.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan, China rolled out supportive policies, issued nearly 100 technical standards, and launched "vehicle-road-cloud integration" pilot programs in 20 cities. Over 60% of new passenger cars now feature advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) 🚗✨.
"ICV represents a strategic direction for the global automotive industry's transformation and upgrading. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Chinese mainland has rapidly advanced its ICV technological capabilities, building a full-fledged industrial system that spans intelligent cockpits, autonomous driving, and cloud-connected control systems," Guo added.
From high-performance computing chips to intelligent-by-wire chassis and world-leading human-machine interaction tech, the stage is set for a revolution on wheels. Ready to see self-driving cars become everyday reality? Stay tuned! 💡
