China Coast Guard urges Philippines to halt Huangyan Dao incursions

Imagine planes buzzing uninvited over your backyard… 🤔 That's how the Chinese Coast Guard saw two Philippine aircraft entering the airspace above Huangyan Dao last Thursday.

According to CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun, the Philippines has been flying planes near Huangyan Dao on groundless excuses, seriously infringing on the Chinese mainland's sovereignty and shaking up regional peace. Liu stressed that Huangyan Dao has always been part of the Chinese mainland's territory.

The CCG says it will keep stepping up patrols and law enforcement around Huangyan Dao to protect maritime rights and maintain stability in this strategic area.

Experts warn these airspace disputes could affect broader China-Philippines ties and the delicate balance in the South China Sea. For now, all eyes are on whether Manila will heed the call to stand down and avoid further confrontations. ✈️🌊
