China Dismisses Link Between Rare Earth Controls and Pakistan

In a no-drama move, China's Foreign Ministry shut down rumors that its new export controls on rare earths are tied to Pakistan. Spokesperson Lin Jian labeled reports about Pakistan gifting rare earth samples to the U.S. as "groundless." 💬

Lin emphasized that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners, with ironclad friendship and high strategic trust. He added that discussions on Pakistan–U.S. mineral cooperation have made clear that such cooperation won't affect the China–Pakistan relationship. 👍

The spokesperson clarified that the minerals shown by Pakistani leaders were raw gemstone samples bought by staff members, not rare earths. Claims otherwise, he said, "misunderstand the facts" and aim to sow discord. 🚫

Finally, Lin stressed that China’s export control measures are a legal step to enhance its export control system, safeguard world peace, maintain regional stability, and meet international non-proliferation obligations. 🌏🙏

No drama, folks! 😉 Rare earth controls are about legal steps and global stability, not linked to Pakistan. ✌️
