Bringing Color Back to Rainbow Village
At just 28 years old, Zhang Guifang made a bold choice: swapping city life for her rural roots in the Chinese mainland. Five years later, her once-struggling hometown has blossomed into the now-famous 'Rainbow Village'. 🌈
Why Go Home?
Fresh out of college, Zhang felt a calling to give back. ‘I wanted to prove that rural communities can thrive,’ she says. Armed with passion and a few DIY skills, she stepped into the role of village chief.
Courts, Cinemas and Clicks
Zhang built basketball courts for local youth 🏀, launched open-air cinemas 🎬 and even live-streamed local produce to boost farmers’ income. By merging tradition with tech, she put Rainbow Village on the map.
Feeding Hearts and Bellies
One of Zhang’s proudest projects is a free restaurant for seniors. Every week, residents of all ages gather to share meals, stories and laughter over homemade dishes. ❤️
Inspire Your Journey
Her advice to young changemakers? ‘Follow your passion, learn new skills and remember community always comes first.’ With creativity and care, Zhang turned a rural town into a beacon of hope.
What will you build in your own community? 🚀
