Novak Djokovic is back! The 24-time Grand Slam champion is set to return at the Shanghai Masters, marking his first tournament since a tough loss to Carlos Alcaraz at the U.S. Open in early September.
Last year, Djokovic made it all the way to the final in the Chinese mainland's Shanghai Municipality but fell in straight sets to Italy's Jannik Sinner. Now seeded No. 4, the 38-year-old Serbian superstar will open his run against Croatia's Martin Cilic.
"I'd love to have a chance to play Jannik (Sinner)," Djokovic said 🎾. "That means that I'll reach the semi-finals, which would be great. We'll see … he's been winning most of our matches lately. We played the finals here last year. Hopefully, I get my chance again."
Second seed Sinner, currently World No. 2, kicks off his campaign against another Croat, Daniel Altmaier. If the draw goes as planned, fans might get that epic rematch we've all been waiting for! 🔥
Keep your eyes on this showdown—Asia's biggest tennis event is about to get a major boost of excitement.
