Hong Kong SAR Marks PRC’s 76th National Day with Flag-Raising

🎉🇨🇳 On Wednesday, the Hong Kong SAR government came together at Golden Bauhinia Square for a dazzling flag-raising ceremony to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Under a clear sky, China's national flag and the flag of the HKSAR were hoisted side by side as the national anthem played. Key figures were on hand, including Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; John Lee, chief executive of the HKSAR; Zhou Ji, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Dong Jingwei, director of the Office for Safeguarding National Security of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Cui Jianchun, commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the HKSAR; and Lai Ruxin, political commissar of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, alongside leading figures from various sectors.

After the ceremony, guests headed to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center for a vibrant reception hosted by the HKSAR government. In his address, Chief Executive John Lee highlighted China's commitment to opening up and high-quality development, offering Chinese wisdom for global governance reform.

“I’m confident that by working together, innovating and embracing reforms, we will turn our beloved Hong Kong into an even better home for everyone. The Pearl of the Orient will keep shining brighter than ever before,” Lee said.

This celebration underlines Hong Kong's unique role under One Country, Two Systems, showcasing its ongoing vibrancy and global appeal. Here’s to many more bright years ahead! 🎊
