Get ready for some green vibes! 🌱 China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) just signed their 2026–2030 Environmental Cooperation Action Plan at the 26th Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting in Yantai, Shandong Province.

This five-year plan dives into eight priority areas to tackle climate and environmental challenges head-on. It builds on three successful phases of cooperation that already delivered solid wins in:

  • Air pollution control 🌫️
  • Sandstorm prevention ⛈️
  • Chemical environmental management ⚗️

With this new roadmap, the three neighbors aim to:

  • Advance regional green development 🌎
  • Boost environmental well-being for people 😊
  • Strengthen practical actions and share best practices 🤝

China’s Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu highlighted that deeper collaboration aligns with everyone’s shared interest—and that China is fully on board to take trilateral environmental teamwork to new heights.

Since 1999, the annual ministers’ meeting has rotated among China, Japan and the ROK, proving that friendship and eco-goals can go hand in hand. Here’s to cleaner air, safer water and a greener future for all! 🎉
