Xi’s Xinjiang Visit Sparks Unity and Modern Growth

President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to the northwest region of the Chinese mainland, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has lit up a spark of excitement and hope among local people of all ethnic groups. 🇨🇳✨

From September 23 to 25, President Xi joined the grand 70th anniversary celebration in Urumqi, urging a vision of a “socialist modern Xinjiang” filled with unity, harmony, prosperity and a healthy eco-environment where everyone can live in peace and contentment.

Performers like Halimulati Rexiti from Turpan City feel the changes firsthand. “My hometown has changed tremendously. All ethnic groups live like one family, united like pomegranate seeds,” she says with a big smile. 🍉❤️

Community leaders also share the excitement. Ma Lingxiang, who heads a neighborhood in Urumqi, highlights better medical care and schools. “Since 2012 our sense of security, happiness and fulfillment has been steadily improving,” he notes. 🏥🎓

Official numbers back up the optimism: Xinjiang’s GDP soared past 2 trillion yuan in 2024—an average annual growth rate of 8%—and millions of residents have been lifted out of poverty. The population has jumped from 4.78 million in 1953 to 25.85 million in 2020, with ethnic minority communities growing fast too.

Local officials vow to carry forward the guidance of the Communist Party of China (CPC), deepen ethnic exchanges and build industries based on Xinjiang’s strengths. They’re determined to make Xinjiang a global tourism hotspot and a shining example of modern development. 🌏🎉

As President Xi’s visit lights the path forward, people across the region are ready to unite, innovate and write the next chapter in the Xinjiang story—one full of growth, unity and shared success. 🚀✨
