China Bars 3 US Firms Over Taiwan Region Ties
The Chinese commerce ministry announced on Thursday that Saronic Technologies, Inc., Aerkomm Inc. and Oceaneering International, Inc. have been placed on its unreliable entity list effective immediately. These US companies are now banned from import or export activities with China and cannot make new investments in the country.
A ministry spokesperson cited the firms’ military-technical cooperation with the Taiwan region, a move that Beijing sees as undermining its national sovereignty and security. Legal grounds include the Foreign Trade Law, National Security Law and Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law.
“We apply this measure prudently,” the spokesperson said, stressing that compliant businesses have nothing to worry about. China remains open and committed to a stable, fair and predictable environment for law-abiding enterprises. 🌏🤝
