Abbas Calls for Gaza Unity, Disarmament, Full UN Membership

In a bold video address to the United Nations, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas laid out his vision for Gaza’s future 🎥. He insisted that the Palestinian Authority is the only body qualified to run the territory and urged rival groups to hand over weapons.

Abbas highlighted the need for 'one state, one law, one security force' as the blueprint for stability. He challenged Hamas and other factions to disarm, calling unity and rule of law the keys to stopping violence.

He didn’t stop there. Abbas condemned the killing of civilians on all sides, pushing both Palestinians and Israelis to end hostilities. He also demanded Israel return to peace talks, saying dialogue is the only path to lasting peace 🤝.

The UN pitch came after Abbas and several senior Palestinian officials were denied U.S. visas, forcing them to skip the in-person General Assembly. Despite that setback, his message echoed hope for a united, secure Gaza gearing up for full UN membership.
