At a regular press briefing on Monday, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun laid down a clear message: “Force cannot bring peace, and violence cannot deliver security.” With eyes on the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Guo stressed that ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not just a regional concern—it’s a global priority.
According to Guo, Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people, and its fate is inseparable from Palestinian territory. A comprehensive ceasefire, he argued, is the urgent first step to ease the suffering of civilians and open the door for lasting peace. ✌️
But a ceasefire is only part of the picture. Guo highlighted the importance of the principle “Palestinians governing Palestine” in the post-war era. He called on countries with special influence over Israel to step up and take real responsibility in rebuilding Gaza and upholding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
China, Guo reassured, remains committed to the two-state solution and firmly opposes any unilateral actions that undermine its foundation. He wrapped up his appeal with a reminder that real security can only come through dialogue and respect, not bullets and bombs.
As tensions continue, Guo said China will keep working with the international community to push for a ceasefire and support the Palestinian people in restoring their national rights. 🌍🤝
