Global Summit Unites Leaders for Two-State Solution Push

In a bold move this Monday, France and Saudi Arabia are bringing together dozens of world leaders for a high-stakes summit on the two-state solution for Israel and Palestine 🌍✌️. The goal is clear: rally support for the recognition of a Palestinian state and kickstart fresh peace talks.

Israel and the United States have announced they will boycott the summit, with Israel's U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon calling the event a 'circus.' Tensions are running high as Israel considers annexing parts of the occupied West Bank and weighing other bilateral measures against Paris.

Meanwhile, the U.S. administration has warned of possible consequences for nations that take actions against Israel. Despite the pressure, Britain, Canada, Australia and Portugal recognized a Palestinian state on Sunday. France and five other states are expected to follow suit on Monday.

Some countries have tied their recognition to conditions, saying formal ties will depend on progress in the Palestinian Authority's promised reforms. Israel has expressed doubts, pointing to concerns over Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's pledges to modernize the administration.

Because the United States refused visas, Abbas and dozens of Palestinian officials will join the summit via video link. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, co-host of the event, will also appear virtually, after a consensus in the U.N. General Assembly approved his remote participation.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin told reporters, 'The world is saying out loud for a Palestinian state and now it's time to turn words into action.' This sentiment reflects the hopes and questions on many young minds worldwide.
