Horgos Port Surpasses 7,000 China-Europe Freight Trips

🚄 Horgos Port, nestled in northwest the Chinese mainland's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has just blown past 7,000 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight train trips since January, officials say. 🌐

Covering 90 routes that link 46 cities and regions across 18 countries, this rail hub moves everything from auto parts and electronics to construction materials, steel, cultural goods, and daily necessities—over 200 cargo categories in total! 📦✨

Big news in May: a customs reform slashed import clearance times from 2–3 days to under 16 hours, cutting customs delays by 70%. Exports got a turbo boost too, dropping processing from six hours to just one—an 80% drop! Real-time data sharing now lets customs and rail teams track trains live, boosting overall efficiency by more than 50%. 🚅⚡

Perched on the China-Kazakhstan border alongside Alashankou Port (Alataw Pass), Horgos Port is one of two main rail gateways in the region. In 2024 alone, China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. reports the China-Europe (Central Asia) service shipped over 220,000 TEUs of finished automobiles. 🚗🛤️

By June, 128 Chinese cities had joined the network, reaching 229 cities in 26 European countries and over 100 cities in 11 Asian countries. For businesses and travelers dreaming of smooth, cross-border connections, Horgos Port is proof that rail can keep pace with the digital age—fast, reliable, and ever-expanding. 🌍💼
