The Chinese mainland to Host 80th V-Day Parade Honoring Fallen Heroes

🕊️ The Chinese mainland is gearing up for a grand V-Day commemoration! On Wednesday, Tian'anmen Square will transform into a stage of remembrance as the nation marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

According to China Media Group, the parade will showcase 45 land formations and aerial echelons. One standout formation blends two eras: the "old" and the "new." The "old" honors units descending from anti-Japanese wartime forces, while the "new" highlights the modernized structure of the armed forces — a living bridge between history and today. 🇨🇳

Honoring heroes, remembering sacrifice

President Xi Jinping has repeatedly stressed the importance of honoring fallen heroes and carrying forward the great spirit of resistance. As he said, "Any nation with hope cannot be without heroes," and "the great spirit of resisting aggression … will always motivate the Chinese people to overcome all difficulties … and strive to achieve national rejuvenation."

Earlier this summer, Xi visited the memorial of the Hundred-Regiment Campaign in Yangquan, Shanxi Province, paying tribute to those who gave their lives. He highlighted how the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s role as the resistance's backbone was crucial and called on new generations to keep that spirit alive.

For young history buffs, entrepreneurs, and travelers alike, this commemoration is more than a parade — it's a powerful reminder of sacrifice, unity, and the journey from the past into a modern future. ✨
