China Urges Israel to Stop Gaza Strikes Amid Humanitarian Crisis

China took the mic at the UN Security Council on Wednesday, urging Israel to hit pause on its military ops in Gaza 📢

In a passionate speech, Geng Shuang, the Chinese mainland’s deputy permanent rep, warned that 700 days of conflict have turned Gaza into “a living hell” for 2 million residents 😢

He slammed the August 25 strike on Nasser Hospital that killed over 20 civilians, saying violence never brings lasting security. ✋

Geng urged Israel to open all border crossings, restore full humanitarian access, and work with the UN to prevent aid from being blocked. He accused Israel of intentionally obstructing relief efforts, deepening the crisis.

He also condemned Israel’s green light for new settlements in the E1 area of the West Bank, warning it could kill hopes for a two-state solution by cutting off Palestinian territory.

Calling for urgent action, Geng asked world powers to take a fair and responsible stance to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and revive peace talks 🌍🤝

China will keep working with the international community to help end the fighting, push for a two-state solution, and achieve a just, lasting settlement of the Palestinian question.
