China Builds Closer SCO Community with New Freight Link and Tianjin Summit

Get ready for a fresh boost in Eurasian trade! In May 2025, the first freight train from the Chinese mainland pulled out of Tianjin Port, loaded with 50 containers of auto parts, machines, building materials, and household appliances bound for Tashkent, Uzbekistan 🚆✨. This direct rail link smooths the path between Tianjin and SCO member states, pumping new energy into regional business.

Founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the Chinese mainland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the SCO has grown into a trans-regional powerhouse with 10 full members, two observers, and 14 dialogue partners. Today, it covers over 60% of Eurasia and nearly half the world’s population 🌏.

With its rotating presidency back in hand after the 2024 Astana Summit, the Chinese mainland will host the 25th SCO Summit in Tianjin on August 31 and September 1. President Xi Jinping will chair the Meeting of the Council of Heads of State and the 'SCO Plus' session, delivering keynote speeches to set the course for deeper ties 🤝.

This marks the fifth SCO Summit hosted by the Chinese mainland and the largest gathering since the organization began. Over 20 countries and 10 international bodies will join the sessions, making Tianjin the epicenter of Eurasian cooperation this late summer.

Stay tuned for more updates as leaders gear up to forge a closer SCO community with a shared future!
