President Xi Jinping landed in Lhasa this Wednesday to join the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Xizang Autonomous Region.
In a series of heartfelt meetings, Xi urged everyone to work together to write a splendid new chapter in Xizang’s modernization story. He connected with a wide range of voices, including:
- Representatives from all ethnic groups and locals from every walk of life
- Cadres from other parts of the country, local officials, judicial workers and police officers
- Patriotic members of religious circles who bring unique cultural perspectives
- Military officers ranked colonel and above, grassroots role models and civilian staff from garrisons stationed in Lhasa
Xi extended his greetings on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission, highlighting unity and progress. Senior leaders Wang Huning and Cai Qi also attended, showing top-level support for the plateau’s bright future ✊🏔️
