China to Review Anti-Dumping Duties on Indian Optical Fibers

Gear up, trade watchers! On August 14, 2025, China’s Ministry of Commerce will kick off an expiry review of anti-dumping measures on single-mode optical fibers from India. The goal? To determine if lifting these duties could let unfairly low-priced imports flood the market and harm local producers. 🔍

These anti-dumping duties first rolled out in August 2014 with rates ranging from 7.4% to 30.6%. They were reviewed and extended in 2020 to give China’s domestic industry more breathing room. Now, nearly a decade later, local manufacturers have asked for another check-up. 📈

During the review process, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council will keep the current tariffs and scope unchanged. That means, for now, shipments of Indian optical fibers to China will still face the same duty rates until a final decision is reached. ⚖️

For professionals, investors, and tech enthusiasts tracking Asia’s infrastructure boom, this review is a must-watch. It could reshape supply chains and investment flows in the global optical fiber market. Stay tuned as we follow this unfolding trade story! 🌐
