China’s Global Travel Expansion: Visa-Free & Passport Perks

China's expanding global travel access during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) is shaking up the international mobility game. An immigration official recently revealed that China has rolled out unilateral visa-free entry and mutual visa exemption agreements with 75 countries, making it easier than ever to visit.

The visa-free transit program is also getting a major upgrade. Now, travelers from 55 countries can enjoy visa-free transit with stays extended up to 240 hours at 60 designated entry ports across 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. This revamp is perfect for short-term visits and spontaneous adventures.

Outbound travel is booming too. Since 2021, China has issued over 300 million entry and exit documents, and more than 160 million valid ordinary passports are in circulation. Today, Chinese passport holders can travel visa-free or with visa on arrival in over 90 countries and regions, boosting China's passport mobility ranking from 72nd to 60th.

These travel upgrades are like unlocking a new level in a global adventure game—offering more freedom and flexibility for exploration! ✈️🌏
