Cambodia Bans Flights Over Conflict Zones near Thailand

In a decisive move aimed at enhancing passenger safety, Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) has instructed all airlines to avoid flying over designated conflict zones bordering Thailand. These areas now include Poipet City, parts of Siem Reap province, and Pailin province.

Sinn Chanserey Vutha, the SSCA's secretary of state, announced that all flights must maintain a minimum altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level when passing near these sensitive regions. This measure is designed to protect both aircraft and passengers amid the ongoing clashes at the border.

International flights between Phnom Penh and Bangkok, as well as Siem Reap and Bangkok, are continuing to operate normally with adjusted routes that safely bypass the prohibited airspace. Reports indicate that armed clashes have also been reported in Cambodian provinces like Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, and Pursat as tensions persist along the border.

For travel enthusiasts and adventurers alike, this is a timely reminder to stay informed and check your flight updates if you're planning a trip in the region. Safe travels and keep exploring! ✈️🌍
