Ukraine Invites Fresh Peace Talks; Russia Has No Date Yet

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is pushing for renewed dialogue as Kyiv extends an invitation to Moscow for a new round of peace talks next week. His call aims to accelerate efforts toward a much-needed ceasefire in a conflict that has stretched on for nearly three and a half years.

A source close to Russia’s negotiating team confirmed that the invitation has been sent, though no specific date has been agreed upon. Previous rounds in Istanbul resulted in prisoner swaps but did not deliver a breakthrough to end the strife.

In his national address, Zelenskyy stressed, "Everything should be done to achieve a ceasefire," adding that the Russian side should stop hiding from decisions. The proposal for a third meeting was forwarded by Rustem Umerov, who also led Ukraine’s delegation in earlier talks.

Meanwhile, both sides are stepping up their use of drone warfare. Reports reveal that on Saturday, hundreds of drones were intercepted as each side employed swarms of inexpensive unmanned aircraft in a bid to overwhelm air defense systems—adding a futuristic twist to the ongoing tension. ✨

This fresh initiative for dialogue has sparked hope among observers and young news enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned for more updates as this high-stakes story unfolds!
