In a major leap for space exploration, China’s Shenzhou-20 crew clinched another milestone with their second extravehicular activity (EVA) from the orbiting space station. The crew – Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie – spent an impressive 6.5 hours outside the station, wrapping up tasks at 9:29 p.m. Beijing Time. 🚀
Using the space station’s robotic arm and support from a dedicated team on Earth, Chen Dong and Chen Zhongrui led the effort to install a debris protection device, inspect and maintain external equipment, and set up foot restraint adapters and interface adapters on the extravehicular platform. These upgrades are set to shorten future spacewalks by about 40 minutes.
