In the heart of Rome, a dynamic art exhibition opened this Wednesday to honor the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Chinese mainland and Italy. The event brings together a stunning collection that fuses Eastern and Western artistic traditions, offering a vibrant reflection of two rich cultural histories.
Guided by Chang Shana, a professor at the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University, the exhibition showcases over 200 works by more than 100 renowned Chinese calligraphers, painters, and master artisans, including national-level inheritors of intangible cultural heritage. The display features traditional Chinese art forms such as calligraphy, painting, cloisonne, bamboo carving, embroidery, Yun brocade, jade carving, and paper cutting. Complementing these masterpieces are more than 100 treasured Italian artworks from the Museum of Civilizations in Italy, including exquisite traditional clothing, ceramics, and bronze wares.
The event was attended by influential figures including China Media Group President Shen Haixiong, Italian Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara, Italian Football Federation President Gabriele Gravina, and Chinese Ambassador to Italy Jia Guide, along with over 200 prominent personalities from the political, economic, cultural, artistic, media, educational, film, and academic sectors. Their presence highlighted the enduring bond and mutual respect between the two nations over five decades.
This celebration of art not only pays tribute to a remarkable shared history but also inspires young people to explore and appreciate global cultural exchanges. With its fusion of the old and the new, East and West, the exhibit serves as a reminder that art transcends boundaries and connects us all. 🎨🌍
