China Men’s 3×3 Stars Soar with Two Wins at FIBA World Cup

The 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, has ignited the court with high-energy action as the Chinese men's team secured two consecutive victories. Their journey kicked off with a strong 21-17 win over Puerto Rico in a nail-biting group-stage match.

The excitement continued in a thrilling contest against Canada. With brilliant plays such as Wu Xingrui’s crafty fake and seamless drives for open layups, along with Guo Hanyu knocking down key shots early on, China established a critical early lead. A pivotal moment came when Canada committed its seventh team foul, giving China the chance to grab two important free throws and extend their advantage.

Canada fought hard, leveling the score at 18 with sharp deep shots. In the clutch, Zhang Dianliang's timely two-pointer put China ahead at 20-18. Although Canada managed to tie it again with a long-range effort, a composed Xiang Zhichao hit the winning shot with just over 30 seconds remaining, sealing a hard-fought 22-20 victory.

Earlier against Puerto Rico, China maintained their momentum with a blend of aggressive offense and steadfast defense. With Wu opening the scoring and stepping up with vital blocks, complemented by Zhang's powerful inside plays, the team turned a tied game into a decisive win.

Now in Group C alongside France, Austria, Canada, and Puerto Rico, Team China is building strong momentum as they aim for a spot in the quarterfinals. Stay tuned for more high-octane basketball action! 🏀🔥
