Dutch Artist Brings Climate Data to Life at Summer Davos

Dutch ecological artist Thijs Biersteker is making waves at the Summer Davos Forum – the World Economic Forum's 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025, held from June 24 to 26 in north China's Tianjin Municipality. His innovative installation, "Fungal Faculty," transforms complex environmental data into captivating sculptures that connect science with emotion.

By turning rigorous climate data into visually immersive art, Biersteker bridges the gap between cold numbers and the human experience. As he told CGTN, "Most important [thing] right now in the world is there's a lot of data on how the environment is doing. There's a lot of solutions, but people do not understand what's happening and also what the data means. So what I do is I bring alive the data into these sculptures that make people feel the data." 🌱

This creative fusion not only makes scientific insights accessible but also sparks a broader conversation about environmental solutions. It’s like turning a scientific textbook into a visual mixtape—a reminder that data can move us, inspire us, and ultimately drive positive change. 🔥
