China Rejects G7’s Unwarranted Accusations on Taiwan & Maritime Issues

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, strongly rebuked the Group of Seven (G7) for what he described as unwarranted and misleading remarks targeting sensitive issues. According to Guo, the G7 is misrepresenting topics related to Taiwan, the South China Sea, and the East China Sea.

Speaking at a regular press conference, Guo criticized the narrative of "market distortions and harmful overcapacity," arguing that these claims are driven by protectionist motives designed to stifle China’s legitimate development. He noted that such rhetoric interferes with China’s internal affairs and violates basic international norms.

Guo also highlighted that the greatest threat to peace in the Taiwan Straits stems from separatist elements promoting Taiwan independence combined with external interference. He urged the G7 to uphold the one-China principle and support peaceful reunification, if it truly cares about maintaining regional stability.

On maritime issues, Guo mentioned that regional cooperation has kept the overall situation stable in the East and South China Seas. He called on the G7 to respect regional consensus and to refrain from using maritime matters to deepen international divisions.

This clear rebuttal reminds us that genuine progress comes from mutual respect and dialogue, not from fueling tensions. Keep it real and stay informed! ✌️
