AfDB Lauds Chinese-Built Infrastructure in Dodoma, Tanzania

Tanzania is on track for a dynamic transformation! During a recent visit in Dodoma, AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina, alongside Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, praised the rapid progress of two major infrastructure projects poised to boost regional connectivity.

The first standout is the Msalato International Airport, a flagship development built by several Chinese companies. Spanning 4,500 hectares, this state-of-the-art airport is designed to enhance air travel, boost trade and tourism, and promote regional integration. Once completed, it could welcome up to 1.5 million passengers annually, making it one of the largest hubs in Tanzania. ✈️

The journey didn’t stop there. Adesina also toured the Dodoma City Outer Ring Road project – a sprawling 112.3-kilometer dual carriageway being constructed by AVIC International Project Engineering Company and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. This road is set to improve domestic and international connectivity, easing traffic flow and fueling economic activity. 🚗

Speaking at a public rally in Nala, on the outskirts of Dodoma, Adesina described these initiatives as "transformational developments" that deliver reliable, resilient infrastructure. Tanzanian President Hassan expressed heartfelt appreciation for the AfDB's support, confident that these projects will significantly enhance the nation’s trade, tourism, and overall economic growth.

These bold steps forward in Dodoma embody an inspiring blend of international collaboration and visionary development, promising exciting new opportunities for trade, travel, and community growth.
