Cosmic Breakthrough: Mega Telescope Capped in Xinjiang!

In a stunning milestone for space exploration, the main structure of a mega fully steerable radio telescope has been capped in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region! 🚀 Located in the foothills of the Tianshan Mountains in Qitai County, this colossal 110-meter dish – weighing over 6,000 tonnes – promises to expand our view of the universe.

Thanks to its agile, fully steerable design, the telescope will be able to observe up to 75% of the celestial sky, a significant upgrade from fixed radio telescopes. Construction kicked off in September 2022 and is on track to wrap up by 2028. The upcoming phase will focus on installing advanced equipment and rigorous system testing.

But the excitement doesn't stop there! China is also developing another fully steerable radio telescope in northeast China's Jilin Province. With a 120-meter diameter, this new project aims to challenge current records, surpassing even the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.

This achievement not only underscores a bold leap in scientific research but also inspires young explorers, tech enthusiasts, and future entrepreneurs. The cosmos just got a lot more accessible, and the sky is truly the limit! 🌌
