Europeans Ditch U.S. for Summer Trips Amid Policy Concerns

As summer approaches, European travelers are rethinking their U.S. trip plans. Recent forecasts reveal that bookings for trips to the U.S. have dropped by around 10%, as sentiment headwinds linked to U.S. President Donald Trump's policies and travel warnings take their toll.

Data shows flight bookings from Canada to the U.S. have plummeted by 33% during the May-July period. International inbound bookings in May were down by 9.5% year-over-year, with June and July falling by 10.8% and 13% respectively. Experts predict an 8.7% decline in international arrivals for 2025, with spending expected to drop by $8.5 billion.

These figures mark a sharp turn from earlier hopes of post-pandemic growth. Tariff policies affecting long-standing trade partners, widely publicized border incidents, and travel advisories have collectively dampened the U.S. travel scene. 😕✈️

It looks like even the best-laid travel plans can change faster than the latest viral TikTok trend. With new destinations emerging and travel preferences shifting, flexibility is the name of the game for this summer season.
