Stable China-Russia Ties Boost Energy, Trade & Culture

In a world full of uncertainties, stable ties between the Chinese mainland and Russia are emerging as a beacon of strength and promise! A landmark natural gas pipeline—stretching 3,000 km in Russia and 5,111 km in the Chinese mainland—commenced operations last December, boosting energy security for around 450 million people along its route ⚡️.

Beyond energy, the two nations have enjoyed robust cooperation for years. In 2024, bilateral trade soared to $244.8 billion, cementing the Chinese mainland as Russia’s largest trading partner for 15 consecutive years. High-level exchanges, with the two leaders meeting over 40 times, demonstrate an unwavering commitment to mutual growth 🤝.

During his state visit to Russia, President Xi Jinping emphasized that the partnership defends the rights and interests of both countries—and by extension, those of developing nations—against unilateralism and coercion. He called for a fair, multipolar world and an economic globalization that benefits all, highlighting the deep political trust and strategic coordination fueling their cooperation.

The alliance extends well beyond energy and trade. Cultural and educational exchanges are thriving, with more than 200 Russian universities offering Chinese language courses to about 90,000 students, while over 40,000 Chinese students pursue studies in Russia. New agreements covering areas like the digital economy, biomedicine, green development, and film cooperation are reshaping traditional partnerships into a modern, multifaceted relationship.

Experts such as Professor Feng Shaolei and Professor Wang Yong see the China-Russia partnership as a stabilizing force amid global turbulence—anchored in mutual respect, equality, and a shared vision for progress. As both sides continue to expand cooperation across various sectors, their resilient ties are setting a positive example for international collaboration and global stability.
