Zhu Yaming Leads 16 Home Stars at Xiamen Diamond League

The first World Athletics Diamond League meeting of 2025 kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian Province in the Chinese mainland, with 16 home athletes set to compete in 10 thrilling events. Among these local stars is triple jump specialist Zhu Yaming, who is making a comeback after his impressive silver medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing.

Although the men's triple jump in Xiamen isn’t a Diamond League points event, Zhu treats it with passion and determination. The 30-year-old, who earned silver at the Tokyo Olympics and bronze at the 2022 Oregon World Championships, is working to regain his best form under the guidance of Brazilian coach Nelio Moura. He now faces stiff competition from China’s Su Wen and Budapest World Championships winner Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso.

Reflecting on his preparation, Zhu said, "I really enjoy coming to Xiamen to compete in the Diamond League. I made some adjustments during training, but I feel I'm not in my best form yet, so I still need some time to recover. However, when it comes to real competition, I will give it my all." 🚀

With his eyes set on a top-three finish by clearing at least 17.30 meters, Zhu is determined to turn every jump into a stepping stone back to glory. Stay tuned for an action-packed showcase of athletic excellence!
