The brand-new China Pavilion made a dazzling debut on Sunday at Osaka Expo 2025, captivating over 300 guests with an energetic fusion of tradition and modern innovation. Designed to resemble a traditional Chinese scroll, its artful architecture sets the stage for stories of heritage, green development, and future tech.
During the opening ceremony, Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stressed China’s strong support for Japan in hosting this grand event and shared his optimism for a confident, open image that paves the way for an inclusive global future.
Bureau International des Expositions Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes praised the pavilion for offering visitors a deep dive into China's cultural heritage and state-of-the-art innovations. Meanwhile, Japan Association for the 2025 World Expo Chairperson Masakazu Tokura highlighted the importance of fostering strong Japan-China relations and international cooperation.
Spread over about 3,500 square meters, the pavilion is split into three engaging sections that celebrate China’s traditional ecological wisdom, modern green initiatives, and its vision for global collaboration. Among the highlights are lunar soil samples from the Chang'e-5 and Chang'e-6 missions, an immersive experience with the Jiaolong deep-sea submersible capsule, and displays featuring next-generation humanoid robots.
The festivities also featured a vibrant traditional lion dance and a stirring performance of the dance drama "The Crested Ibis," thrilling the audience and adding a festive flair. With Osaka Expo 2025 running from April 13 to October 13, 2025, this landmark event is set to inspire young minds and global explorers alike with its dynamic blend of culture, innovation, and sustainability.
