Bundle up, folks! ❄️ A frosty wave is about to sweep across central and eastern China, starting this Wednesday and lasting until next Tuesday. This chilly surprise is bringing heavy snow and rain, just in time to shake up the ongoing Spring Festival travel rush. 🚄🌨️
According to the National Meteorological Center, regions like the Ili River valley in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, central and southern parts of northwest China's Qinghai Province, and some areas in northeast and north China have already experienced light to moderate snow or sleet on Tuesday.
Some parts of Qinghai Province shivered as temperatures plummeted to a freezing minus 31.8 degrees Celsius! 🥶 And there's more to come—the local meteorological department predicts continuous snowy weather across most of the province from Tuesday night until Saturday.
Wednesday's forecast isn't any warmer. Freezing rain is set to hit the northern part of central China's Hubei Province. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain will drench eastern parts of the Jianghuai and Jianghan regions, the northern part of Jiangnan (that's the area south of the Yangtze River), and the northern part of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Travelers, take note! This wintry weather could affect your Spring Festival plans. Stay warm, stay safe, and maybe pack an extra pair of mittens! 🧤❄️
