During his recent visit to the Ministry of National Defense to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the Korean People's Army, Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), pledged to bolster the country's war response capabilities.
In his speech, Kim highlighted concerns over the ongoing deployment of nuclear strategies by the United States on the Korean peninsula, along with US-led military exercises and alliances with South Korea and Japan. He emphasized that these actions create a military imbalance in Northeast Asia, posing significant security challenges for the DPRK.
Kim assured that while the DPRK does not seek unnecessary escalation, it will implement sustained countermeasures to maintain regional military balance and prevent the outbreak of new conflicts. This includes plans to rapidly enhance all deterrence measures, including nuclear forces.
Furthermore, Kim expressed strong support for Russia, condemning what he described as reckless behaviors by the US and Western groups. He affirmed that the DPRK would continue to back Russia in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity, in line with their comprehensive strategic partnership.
