China made it clear on Friday that any attempts to seek U.S. support for \"Taiwan independence\" or to use the Taiwan question to contain China are destined to fail. 🇨🇳💪
Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, shared this message during a daily news briefing. When asked about Lai Ching-te, leader of the Taiwan region, completing his \"stopovers\" in Hawaii and Guam in the United States, Lin didn't hold back.
\"The United States insisted on arranging Lai's 'stopovers' in Hawaii and Guam, engaging in official exchanges, helping Taiwan expand its so-called 'international space,' and providing a platform for 'Taiwan independence' separatist activities,\" Lin said.
He emphasized that such moves seriously violate the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiqués. \"These actions undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and send a grave wrong signal to the 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces,\" Lin added, noting that China has strongly protested to the U.S. side.

He called on the U.S. to \"stop fudging and hollowing out the one-China principle,\" and to cease supporting \"Taiwan independence\" separatist forces in any form.
\"Taking concrete actions to stabilize China-U.S. relations and safeguard peace across the Taiwan Straits is essential,\" Lin noted.
He wrapped up with a firm warning: \"Soliciting U.S. support for 'Taiwan independence' and using the Taiwan question to contain China are both doomed to fail. No one should underestimate the strong resolve, firm will, and strong ability of the Chinese government and people to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.\"
