Gaza is once again mourning 💔 as an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Beit Lahiya claimed the lives of at least 109 Palestinians, including many children, on Tuesday.
Our stringer in Gaza visited the bombsite, witnessing firsthand the heartbreaking aftermath of the attack. The multistory residential building, once filled with the sounds of daily life, now lies in ruins.
\"We heard a loud explosion, and everything shook,\" recounted Hassan Abu Al-Nasr, a nearby resident. \"Homes were destroyed in an instant. We're trying to rescue people, but there are still so many buried under the rubble.\"
Despite the tireless efforts of locals to pull survivors and victims from the debris, Hassan fears that \"three to four times as many bodies are still beneath it.\" The community is grappling with the immense loss and the daunting task of recovery.
As the people of Beit Lahiya come together to mourn and support one another, the world watches with heavy hearts. The hope for peace feels distant, but the resilience of the community shines through even in the darkest times.
