The Guangdong Southern Tigers 🐯 are on fire! 🔥 They just snagged their third straight win by defeating the Fujian Sturgeons 🐟 116-108 on Wednesday in Guangzhou, in south China's Guangdong Province.
The game started off tight, with Guangdong leading by just three points, 32-29, after the first quarter. The visitors struggled in the second quarter, missing six out of seven shots beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Darius Bazley and Troy Gillenwater teamed up to keep Guangdong's offense rolling, dropping a combined 16 points. Will Barton chipped in another six, helping the Tigers stretch their lead to 13 points, 65-52, by halftime.
In the second half, Fujian's Bazley and Gillenwater weren't backing down! 💪 They combined for 24 points, with Gillenwater scoring 14. Defense seemed optional as both teams kept lighting up the scoreboard. Joseph Young added 10 points and Frank Mason III contributed nine for Fujian in the third quarter alone. Despite their efforts, Fujian still trailed by 13 points, 97-84, heading into the final quarter.
Guangdong stepped up their defense in the fourth, quickly pushing their lead to 21 points at 105-84. 😲 Though Young and Mason tried to spark a comeback for Fujian in the last five minutes, it wasn't enough to turn the tide.
