Heatwave Hits Japan: July Sees Surge in Heatstroke Cases

Japan is feeling the heat this July! 🔥 The number of people hospitalized due to heatstroke has soared by 20% compared to last year, reaching a staggering 43,195 cases, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

This figure marks the second-highest for July since records began in 2008, just behind the 54,220 cases recorded in July 2018. With temperatures skyrocketing past 35°C in many regions, the sweltering heat claimed 62 lives.

It's not just the elderly feeling the burn—although a significant 25,469 of the patients were aged 65 and above. People are being affected everywhere, from their homes to the streets. A total of 17,638 individuals were rushed to hospitals from their homes, while 8,234 fell ill while just walking around.

Stay cool and hydrated, amigos! Remember to take care of yourselves and check on your loved ones during these scorching days. 🌞💧
