In a bold move, China has slammed the U.S. for its latest sanctions targeting over 300 entities and individuals, including dozens of Chinese enterprises. The U.S. claims these companies have aided Russia's military efforts in Ukraine, but China isn't having it.
\"China firmly opposes any illegal unilateral sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction,\" declared Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry. \"Normal economic and trade exchanges between China and Russia should not be interfered with, nor should they become tools to smear and contain China.\"
Lin didn't hold back, criticizing the U.S. for what he called indiscriminate use of sanctions. \"The U.S. sanctions have caused infinite harm, undermining the sovereign security of other countries, causing humanitarian tragedies, and destabilizing global supply chains,\" he said.
He pointed out that the escalation of sanctions since the Russia-Ukraine crisis began hasn't helped solve any problems. Instead, Lin insists, it's creating more risks worldwide. \"China is not a creator of or party to the Russia-Ukraine crisis and will never accept the smearing and deflection of blame,\" he emphasized.
🌍 This latest clash highlights the growing tensions between two of the world's biggest economies. As the global community watches on, the stakes keep getting higher.
