Rising Fears of Record Flooding in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul 🌊

Hey there, folks! 🌧️ Brace yourselves—the rain isn't taking a break in Brazil's southern Rio Grande do Sul state. Less than two weeks after devastating floods hit the region, leaving at least 143 people dead, the fear of record-breaking water levels is back. 😰

Since Friday, intense rains have been soaking the area about 100 kilometers west of Porto Alegre, the state capital. Four rivers are on the rise, according to government data. Even Guaíba Lake, right by Porto Alegre, is spilling over in several spots—and it's still climbing! 🌊

\"The Guaíba could surpass last week's level of 5.35 meters and reach a new high of 5.5 meters,\" Fernando Fan from the Institute of Hydrological Research at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul told Radio Gaúcha. \"That's a record flood we're talking about!\" 😱

Stay safe out there, and keep an eye on updates. We'll be here to keep you posted! 💪
